Fun Filled Community Day at SMCC!

posted in: Events 0

Thanks to everyone who came out to support two of our local youth programs and have a fun-filled community day!  A huge thanks to our Sandy Mush 4-H Club, the oldest in Buncombe County, for providing a great cookout meal, and to Mountain Lady Farm Project for the yummy desserts and loom demo and weaving project.  All proceeds went directly to these two programs.

All activities were free.  The young and young at heart were curious and eager to learn more about snakes, bugs, drones, and weaving.  A special thanks to Dee Williams, Landon Ward, and Tim Forrest for donating their time and providing the fun and educational Drone Demo, Snake Camp, and Bug Camp.

Thanks to John Wingerter of the Council on Aging for assisting community members with questions regarding medicare.  John is willing to return and provide a class if there is community interest.

Spring gardens will be overflowing with new plants shared at our garden swap. We still have plenty more seeds.  We will have them available today and for the next two Mondays during our open library and children’s story time hours from 10am-12pm in the Sandy Mush Community Library on the main gymnasium floor.  Come on by and grab some!!
