Monday Playgroup – Every Monday from 10:30am – 1pm  

Sandy Mush Community Center hosts a Monday Playgroup for preschool and elementary children and their parents.

Stories, art, music, field trips and free play! Bring a snack to enjoy. Community volunteers, parents and guest artists help lead special activities and story time with loads of free play time to use the gym, outside space, games, manipulative building toys and art activities at the center.

Monday, March 6th: Read Across America! Bring your favorite book to share and we will divide into age groups, 4-7, 8- 12, Teens! Peggy will read a preschool story to the kids, Golda will begin a lesson on self portraits with the older kids, please bring a small mirror if you have one. Parents are encouraged to bring their favorite book too and we will have a meeting to go over spring activities and Spring Fling fundraiser around noon. 

Monday, March 13: Blackthorn Farms Field Trip, we will meet at SMCC at 10:30am and then head over there.

Monday, March 20: First day of Spring! Lynda Emanshowski gave us some beautiful dried flowers for the kids to make Spring crafts! Making pictures, bookmarks and cards! 

April 3rd: Self- Portrait Lesson with Golda for the younger group of children! 


Special Learning Workshops

Next workshop is Math Camp, March 28, April 11 and 25, 10 AM to 1 PM. This year Math Camp will focus on money literacy and patterning and counting activities for younger children. There will be hands on learning centers and activities for 4 years to 12 year levels. All children and youth are welcome though please RSVP so we know how to prepare. There will be a group meal from Noon to 1PM that the children participate in preparing.

Stay tuned to Facebook and sign-up for the family email newsletter for information about special learning workshop opportunities at SMCC.  Join us for socializing, learning activities, arts and crafts and more for Pre-K and elementary children and their parents. These workshops happen on various days of the week depending on the availability of the instructor/facilitator.  There is usually at least two special events a month.  SMCC also has a variety of learning tools that can be checked out by home school and school families appropriate for preschool through high school.
