Census 2020 – Get Counted for Your Community!

posted in: Community News 0

Sandy Mush Community Center is partnering with WNC Communities and Dogwood Health Trust to get everyone in our community registered for the census.  We are under reported in our area and these census numbers affect the funding we receive for libraries, schools, fire and safety services, broadband internet availability, roads and many other services for our community.

SMCC will receive program funding through Dogwood Health Trust for each family we register.  We don’t work for the census but are serving as volunteers to help get our community registered. It is fast and easy!

To register online, go to this link and begin.  It will take 5 to 10 minutes.  You do not need the 12-digit census ID number.  https://my2020census.gov/

If you prefer to have an SMCC volunteer work with you on your census form, email [email protected] and include your email or phone.  An SMCC volunteer will contact you.

Or you can call the Census Bureau and fill out the form online with someone there. English (for 50 states and Washington, D.C.): 844-330-2020 or Spanish (for 50 states and Washington, D.C.): 844-468-2020

Please then take a moment to email us and let us know that you completed the census and the number of people you registered – [email protected] This will help us verify our efforts for WNC Communities and Dogwood Health Trust. Thank you for taking the time to be counted for your community!
